TheatreWorks holds general auditions twice each year, typically in January and the summer. We also attend the Theatre Bay Area regional auditions held each spring. From those three pools of actors we hold callbacks by invitation for each production throughout the year. We encourage you to audition for us. At the general auditions actors are asked to present two monologues or one monologue and one song. We welcome actors of all levels of ability for both musical and non-musical productions. We hire Equity and non-Equity performers. We do not audition children under the age of 8.

TheatreWorks has a long history of culturally specific and non-traditional casting. We encourage performers of all ethnic backgrounds to come show us their work.

How to Audition for TheatreWorks

1. Request an appointment for one of our general auditions, held twice each year, usually in January and late Summer. Details are published a month or two ahead in Theatre Bay Area Magazine (www.theatrebayarea.org) and at 650.463.1950 ext. 610.

2. Attend the Region-wide auditions held by Theatre Bay Area in San Francisco/Berkeley, or our EPAs in New York City (announced in Backstage magazine).

3. Let us know when you'll be appearing in a show!
